Local Studies:
Lane Cove Library has family history resources with census's and musters, as well as many lists to help people track down their ancestors. There is also pictures of 'The street where you live' in the past.
Children’s:
There isn't so much here but there are lists and numbers of schools and nurseries which would be very useful to parents just moved to the area. However it is certainly less comprehensive than the local studies 2.0
Teenage/Youth
For teenagers the online resources are quite good at Lane Cove with HSC resources and lots of them. Past exam papers and weblinks. Loads of useful stuff.
